I would also assume that the development team was working close to NVIDIA to make it all happen. I have zero insights about the native side of the project, but I assume that it's written in a very low level programming language (possible even mixed with some Assembly). The initial port was mostly about emulating flash and being able to get custom themes to render correctly in a totally different OS and hardware architecture than the Windows x86-64 version. Plus honestly, it's not "fun" work to do. The truth is that the initial port of HS to NVIDIA Shield required a somewhat different (although complementary) skill set to the one needed to make it all work with Android 11 restrictions. Having said that, we need to contextualise the changes and understand why it may take a while, even for the original developer to be able to make things happen. And I stand by my advice that there are other perfectly functional, well maintained front ends to choose from. I'm not saying this to get one's hopes up. Give the developer some space and let him have his saying when it's time to say something to the end users. RetroArch's website 64bit version and RetroArch Plus:Įxe=64/.RetroActivityFutureĪlso let me know when the new version hits Google Play Store and I'll take down the modded version. Main APK from RetroArch's website and Google Play Store Version:Įxe=com.retroarch/.RetroActivityFutureĮxe=32/.RetroActivityFuture It would be great if someone could compile a list of working settings for modern emulators. Unfortunately my Shield has broken down and I ended up replacing it with a NUC, so I can't help much with beta testing may actually be someone well equipped to help as his collection uses quite a few standalone emulators, as well as multiple 32-bit and 64-bit RA cores. It's great to see HS making an official comeback. childish, and delay gratification feels like getting grounded for a week.Įdit: After reading your post, dropping the mess files into the retroarch directory is the one thing I didn't try - I saw hyperlaunchhq letting me point to the bios files, so I assumed I could just point it to my mess directory.Great stuff :). Not to get too meta, but I think video games still sort of holds on to the parts of us that can be. Its not the case, at least, in most cases. Please don't feel like people are trying to appropriate your work, or feeling self entitled. I appreciate everything you're doing, and I know what it's like to be overwhelmed. I don't remember needing to do anything else, but as soon as I'm able to breathe, I'll drop everything somewhere so that you guys can disect it and see what could be the issue. Create \system\mess\ and drop your MESS BIOS files in there. The fact that I'm updating modules and sharing them on the thread should tell you that I have no issues with sharing anything.įor those of you trying to get this working, I had a brand new install with no cfgs whatsoever. Posts like this one make me just want to keep my work to myself if this is what it'll get me. I've been working 18 hour days trying to finish the game I'm working on so getting you my configuration files right at this instant isn't exactly a priority for me and seeing you post stuff like this shitting on me isn't exactly going to make me want to go out of my way to want to help you either. What's most frustrating is that it seems that user zerojay at the HyperLaunch forums has it working, but doesn't seem inclined to share his config or any files.
